Using creams with HappySkin
Keep using any emollient or steroid cream your GP has prescribed. Don't stop or change it on our advice. Thick or paraffin based creams sit on the surface of the fabric and stop it working, so apply a thin layer of a non-paraffin moisturiser and let it absorb before dressing. If you are unsure how to time a prescribed steroid around wear, ask your GP.
Fabric and washing
White only, with no dyes. Ready to wear straight from the box. Wash at 30 to 40°C, tumble dry low or medium, do not bleach or dry clean. Some bobbling after washing is normal with this soft fabric and does not affect how it works.

How the DreamSkin coating works
Every HappySkin garment is soft cotton and TENCEL with a coating of the DreamSkin polymer. The same polymer, at a higher level, is used in DreamSkin silk garments available on NHS prescription.

Keep creams thin
The coating has to touch the skin to work, and thick creams or ointments block it. Use a thin layer of a non-paraffin moisturiser and let it dry completely before dressing.

Wear it as much as you need
Day and night, up to 24 hours a day if needed, under their normal clothes or as nightwear.
Don't stop or change an emollient or steroid cream on our advice. If you are unsure how to time a steroid around wear, ask your GP.
About this bodysuit
Can my baby wear the bodysuit as a thermal layer in winter?
Yes! The long sleeve bodysuit works perfectly as a cosy thermal base layer under pyjamas or sleepsuits in colder months, helping your baby stay warm while still protecting their skin.
How do the built-in scratch mitts help?
The integrated scratch mitts prevent your baby from damaging their delicate skin during flare-ups or night-time itching. They’re soft, safe, and part of the suit, so you never lose them like separate mittens.
Can the built-in mitts be folded away?
Yes. The mitts on our long-sleeved bodysuits can be folded back over the cuffs when your baby does not need them, so the same garment works whether you want hands covered for scratch protection or free for play and feeding.
