Using creams with HappySkin
Keep using any emollient or steroid cream your GP has prescribed. Don't stop or change it on our advice. Thick or paraffin based creams sit on the surface of the fabric and stop it working, so apply a thin layer of a non-paraffin moisturiser and let it absorb before dressing. If you are unsure how to time a prescribed steroid around wear, ask your GP.
Fabric and washing
White only, with no dyes. Ready to wear straight from the box. Wash at 30 to 40°C, tumble dry low or medium, do not bleach or dry clean. Some bobbling after washing is normal with this soft fabric and does not affect how it works.

How the DreamSkin coating works
Every HappySkin garment is soft cotton and TENCEL with a coating of the DreamSkin polymer. The same polymer, at a higher level, is used in DreamSkin silk garments available on NHS prescription.
Manages moistureHolds and releases moisture at the skin, so it isn’t left too dry or too damp.
Regulates temperatureLets the body heat and cool as it needs to, so they stay comfortable at night.
- Doesn’t wash out. Bonded to the fabric, so it washes at 30 to 40°C with everything else.

Keep creams thin
The coating has to touch the skin to work, and thick creams or ointments block it. Use a thin layer of a non-paraffin moisturiser and let it dry completely before dressing.

Wear it as much as you need
Day and night, up to 24 hours a day if needed, under their normal clothes or as nightwear.
