About Eczema

Over 31 million people around the world struggle with eczema, about half of which struggle with atopic dermatitis in particular, making it the most common type of eczema. While the exact cause of eczema is unknown, scientists do know that atopic dermatitis results from an overactive immune system, leaving the skin barrier dry, itchy, and overall, uncomfortable.

Typically, your GP or dermatologist will prescribe over-the-counter creams or ointments for your baby’s mild-moderate eczema, but the fact they most often contain paraffin or petroleum is a problem.

Your child may enjoy a degree of initial relief from the application of these thick, greasy, oily creams, but due to the fact that eczema skin can’t produce sebum naturally, it prevents the skin’s natural self-hydration process, leading to a dependency on creams for moisture.

More often than not, this calls for a topical solution to calm down the itchiness. Eczema is best treated with moisturizing ingredients to soothe the skin. That’s where Skin Recovery Cream comes in.
