Discover five of the main options for anyone looking for baby eczema help , so they get to enjoy comfortable, healthy skin for the long term.

5 Way To Treat Eczema Infographic

Atopic dermatitis (a.k.a eczema) is an issue that affects roughly 2.5 million children across the UK, and it’s characterized by red, dry, often painful patches on the skin. It can be miserable for the child in question – something that naturally leads to parents seeking baby eczema help .

Do some research into the subject, and you’ll see a number of remedies being advertised. In this latest blog, we’ll be looking at 5 of them. We’ll also be rating them in terms of effectiveness. So, without further ado, let’s dive in and see what’s on offer.

Option #1 – Emollient Creams

Visit your local GP looking for eczema child treatment , and 99 times out of 100, they will recommend the use of an emollient or ‘barrier’ cream. The belief is that the emollient cream will lock in the necessary moisture to what can be hydration-starved skin to provide relief.

Effectiveness Rating: 3/10. While this paraffin-based option might work for a select few, it doesn’t allow the skin to release moisture as it would when it’s healthy. In truth, it often aggravates and results in more flare-ups and the cycle goes on.

Option #2 – Steroid Creams

Something else that may be given to you by your doctor for your child’s eczema is topical steroid creams. They’re given out to help bring down the inflammation that eczema presents, and to a degree, they work. However, they’re not a long-term solution.

Effectiveness Rating: 4/10. This cream does a least do what it says on the tin, but it’s not meant to be used for more than a week. If you do, your child can get what’s known as Topical Steroid Withdrawal Syndrome, which is often worse than the problem it’s meant to treat.

Option #3 – Adjust Your Child’s Diet

Another known way that offers baby eczema help  is to adjust their diet. Of course, it’s most often not the only trigger, but it is said to be one cause for around 1 in 3 kids under 5. Removing eggs, cow’s milk, peanuts, wheat, fish, and soya, it’s said to reduce flare-ups.

Effectiveness Rating: 6/10. This best works in tandem with other main methods, but do you really want to be strictly limiting important essential omega oils and proteins that help their overall development? It’s an option, but not a primary one, as results may be minimal.

Option #4 – Antihistamines

When a flare-up occurs, it can be red, inflamed, and itchy and it’s known to be caused by external allergens for some. For this reason, it’s possible to alleviate the itching with antihistamines like diphenhydramine solution for children. It can help in milder cases.

Effectiveness Rating: 5/10. Again, we have an option that only deals with part of the problem, as all it will do is bring down the allergic element of the flare-up. It’s why you have to keep giving your child more doses to keep the itching to a minimum.

Option #5 – HappySkin Eczema Baby Clothing

Our last option is a different kind of child eczema treatment, as it’s worn as base clothing every day. HappySkin eczema clothing has Dreamskin® Polymer coating that helps the skin to regulate its temperature by retaining or releasing moisture as healthy skin does.

Effectiveness Rating: 9/10. The technology ‘tricks’ the dormant subdermal skin sensors into functioning normally and prompting the skin to sweat when your child is too hot or retain moisture when it needs to. Worn on a regular basis, the skin slowly but surely returns to a healthy state – all the time being soothed and protected from irritants and bacteria.

The Eczema Bodysuit : The Gentle, Holistic Solution

As we can see, the traditional options for child eczema are far from perfect – mainly because they treat the symptoms, not the cause. HappySkin eczema clothing, however, gets to the root of the problem by helping the skin to regulate its own health – something that leads to results.

So, if you’re looking for the most effective way to provide relief for your child’s eczema, why not try one of our eczema bodysuit products that are made from super-soft, high-quality Cotton/TENCEL™ fabric? It’s the effective option that more and more parents are turning to.
